Ladies Set For Weekend Series At Trinity
The Centenary softball team is on the road this weekend for a critical Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series against the Trinity University Tigers beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Softball Field.

San Antonio – The Centenary softball team is on the road this weekend for a critical Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series against the Trinity University Tigers beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Softball Field.
The series between the Ladies (17-16, 12-11 SCAC) and Tigers (27-7, 20-4 SCAC) will conclude on Saturday at Noon.

Centenary is currently sixth in the conference standings while Trinity is second. The top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the SCAC Tournament.
The 2025 SCAC Softball Tournament, a double-elimination event, will be held May 2-4 on the campus of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The Ladies have made eight-consecutive SCAC Tournament appearances.
The Ladies lost two of three at home last weekend to McMurry University in an evenly-played series and the final appearance on their home field this season for the Maroon and White. The Ladies and War Hawks split a doubleheader last Friday with Centenary falling 10-7 in eight innings in game one and responding with an 11-3 run-rule victory in five innings in game two. McMurry won the rubber game on Sunday, 3-2.
Trinity enters the weekend on a four-game weekend and is 14-4 at home this season. The Tigers are playing at home for the first time since March 25 against Texas Lutheran after sweeping consecutive series on the road at Southwestern and Schreiner.
Centenary has a .289 team batting average with a .368 OBP and is slugging .365 with 10 home runs, 46 extra-base hits, and 326 total bases. The Ladies have scored 161 total runs and average 4.8 per game with nine games of 10+ hits. The Ladies scored a season-high 11 runs last weekend against McMurry and have scored eight or more runs in a game eight times and 10 or more three times.
Senior P/UT Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.) is ranked eighth in the conference in ERA (2.55), sixth in strikeouts (63), and fifth in innings pitched (93.1) as she is 8-6 in a team-high 21 appearances. She has made 10 starts and thrown five complete games.
Senior P Anna Scarbrock (Alexandria, La.) has teamed with Shepherd to form a dynamic duo in the circle for the Ladies this season as she is 7-5 with a 3.25 ERA in 16 appearances and a team-high 12 starts. Scarbrock has thrown a team-best seven CG's and three shutouts. In 71.0 IP, she has allowed just seven BB and struck out 22. Her three shutouts are ranked in the top 50 in the country.
Senior UT Viviana Rivero (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and C/1B Abby Touchet (Shreveport, La.) are two of the conference's top run producers this season as Touchet is tied for sixth in RBI (26) and Rivero (25) is eighth and they share the team lead in hits (41).
Touchet is hitting .414 (.508 OBP/.657 slugging) with a team-high five home runs and nine doubles. She has scored 16 runs and walked a team-high 17 times in 99 at-bats with just five strikeouts. Rivero is batting .387 (.395 OBP/.528 slugging) with three homers and six doubles along with 17 runs, four BB and only seven K in 106 AB.
