Shreveport – The Centenary softball team fell 4-1 to the nationally-ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in the finale of a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series at the Centenary Softball Complex.
The Ladies (6-8, 3-5 SCAC) were swept on Friday in a doubleheader by the Bulldogs (14-0, 8-0 SCAC) by scores of 6-1 in game one and 4-3 in game two. TLU entered the weekend ranked No. 8 in the country in the NFCA/Gorout Division III Top 25 Softball Coaches' Poll.
TLU finished with seven hits, which included one home run, and two walks along with a pair of stolen bases and struck out five times. Centenary managed just four hits with no walks and struck out five times while committing one error and did not steal a base. The Bulldogs left six on base and the Ladies left a pair.
Senior P Anna Scarbrock (Alexandria, La.) started in the circle for the Ladies and suffered the loss to fall to 2-2 on the season as she lasted just two innings and allowed four runs (three earned) and six hits with no walks and one strikeout. She faced 13 batters and allowed one home run. Senior Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.) relieved her and worked the final five innings. She was impressive as she blanked the Bulldogs on just one hit with two BB and four K's while facing 18 batters.
Amanda White (6-0) went the distance in the circle for the Bulldogs as she allowed just one earned run and four hits in her seven innings of work with no BB and five K's. White also got the win in game one of the series on Friday as she pitched six innings and allowed one earned run and four hits with four BB and five K's.

Stokes ripped a two-out RBI single in the sixth for the Ladies' only run of the game.
The Bulldogs started the game with consecutive singles off of Scarbrock by Caelee Clark and Annie Kay and then Kylee Jack delivered an RBI single to score Clark for a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, Tavery Ortiz singled home the Bulldogs' second run to give them an early 2-0 lead. Serena Gonzalez belted a two-run home run in the third for a 4-0 lead and that was enough for White and the Bulldogs to cruise to the win and secure the series sweep.
Centenary now hits the road next weekend in league play to face Concordia University (11-8, 7-4 SCAC) in Austin, Texas. The series beings on Saturday with a DH at 3 and 5 p.m. and concludes on Sunday with a single game set for 11 a.m.
