Women's Track Team Opens Season on Saturday in Mississippi
The Centenary men’s and women’s track teams will open their seasons on Saturday at the Mississippi College Outdoor Season Opener at the James E. Parkman Track.
Clinton, Miss. – The Centenary men's and women's track teams will open their seasons on Saturday at the Mississippi College Outdoor Season Opener at the James E. Parkman Track.
Field events will begin at 10 a.m. The 5000m is set for 11 a.m. and all other track events will begin at 1 p.m. Field events will include the long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus as well as the high jump, pole vault, hammer, and javelin.
The running events will include the following: 10,000m run, 5000m run, 400m hurdles, 400m relay, 1500m run, 400m dash, 100m dash, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 800m run, 200m dash, 3000m Steeplechase, and 1600m relay.
In addition to host Mississippi College and Centenary, the field for the meet includes the foloowing teams: Alcorn State (M/W); Belhaven (M/W); Blue Mountain (M/W); Bossier Parish CC (M/W); Christian Bros. (M/W); Coahoma CC (M/W); Columbus St. (M/W); Dillard (M/W); East Texas Baptist (M/W); Freed-Hardeman (M/W); Harding (M/W); Hinds CC (M/W); Jackson State (M/W); Jarvis Christian (M/W); Lyon (M/W); Meridian CC (M/W); Millsaps (M/W); Miss. Univ. for Women (M/W); Montevallo (M/W); Rhodes (M/W); Southern (M/W); Southern Arkansas (M/W); Southwestern Assemblies of God (M/W); Spring Hill (M/W); St. Xavier (M/W); Stillman (M/W); Talladega College (M/W); and West Alabama (M/W).
