Madeline Vacula Named SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
MADELINE VACULA OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore from Belton, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Saturday, September 17 to Saturday, October 1.

Vacula had a fantastic season-opening meet for the Ladies on Saturday at home versus Ozarks as she earned three individual victories and was also part of the squad's victorious 200-yard medley relay team. She won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:05.24, the 100-yard IM in 1:08.11, and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:26.38.
Vacula, coming off of a superb rookie season in which she earned all-conference honors, now owns 10 individual wins in her young career.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Rosie Wade of the University of the Ozarks won the 200 freestyle in 2:05.30, the 100 freestyle in 58.23, and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team in Saturday's dual meet against Centenary.
Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 14 (6 p.m.) and Saturday, Oct. 15 (10 a.m.) as the Maroon and White welcome McMurry to town for a pair of meets.
