Centenary will wrap up the weekend on Saturday versus the University of the Ozarks Eagles at 4 PM in Clarksville, Ark.
The Gents (7-12, 5-5 SCAC) enter Friday's game against the Warriors (1-18, 1-9 SCAC) looking to stay hot as they have won a season-high three games in a row and have won five of their last seven. Hendrix has lost nine games in a row and is 0-8 at home this season while the Gents are 3-6 on the road.
Centenary won three home games in five days, defeating Austin College 71-68 in overtime on Jan. 30, the University of Dallas 66-60 on Jan. 31, and Texas Lutheran University by a score of 67-64 on Tuesday. Hendrix lost a pair of road games last weekend in league play – at McMurry University 95-65 and 99-69 at Schreiner University.
Centenary is currently tied for second place in the SCAC's Blue Division with Dallas while Hendrix is in last place in the division. The Warriors were picked to finish 12th this season in the preseason poll while the Gents were predicted to finish ninth. Ozarks was picked 10th (tied with Austin College) and is currently tied for fourth place with the 'Roos, a half-game ahead of Hendrix.
The top six teams in the conference (top three in each division) will qualify for the SCAC Men's Basketball Tournament, which will be held Feb. 27 through March 1 in Conway, Ark. The winner of that event, hosted by Hendrix, will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

GENTS NOTES:
Centenary has allowed the second-fewest points (705) in conference play this season and only Dallas and the University of St. Thomas have allowed fewer all season in all games (conference and non-conference). The Gents are allowing just 70.5 PPG in their 10 conference games and have held seven opponents to 70 points or less and four under 65 points.
Freshman G/F Kane Broussard (Iowa, La.) made a Centenary men's basketball program record ten 3-point baskets in a 94-64 blowout victory over the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets on Jan. 20 at home. Broussard finished with a season-high 34 points and was 10-15 from beyond the arc. The previous program record for made 3's in a game was nine and was accomplished by AJ Hall on Jan. 12, 2022 against Southwestern University in the Gold Dome. Broussard's 10 treys are the most by a SCAC player in a game this season.
Quentin Beverly joined the 1,000-point club on Jan. 11 with 27 against Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas. Beverly becomes just the 37th Gent to score 1,000 or more career points in the 102 years of Centenary men's basketball and now has 1,134 career points and has averaged 12.5 for his career.
Beverly has scored in double figures a team-high 17 times this season and done so in six-straight games as he has been held to single digits just twice all season. The senior has scored 20+ points nine times with one 30-point game.
Jaden Braden has blossomed into one of the conference's best first-year players as the rookie has now reached double figures 14 times this season, in seven-straight games and in nine of his last 10. He notched his third 20+-point performance on Tuesday against TLU.
Nicholas Addison has been one of the conference's top all-around players this season as he ranks in the top five in FG %, top 10 in rebounding (7.6) and in the top 15 in both blocked shots and steals. He has reached double digits four times, averages 8.4 PPG, has four double-digit rebounding performances and two double-doubles.
Bryce Evans averages 5.6 PPG and 4.3 rebounds/game with a pair of double-digit scoring performances and one double-figure rebounding effort.
Centenary is one of the league's top defensive teams as the Gents rank in the top five in the conference in scoring defense, FG % defense and 3-point FG % defense.
The Maroon and White's 7-12 overall record is not indicative of how competitive they have been as eight of the Gents' 12 losses this season have been by six points or less with a pair of one-point losses.
A Glance at the Warriors and Eagles:
Anthony Boone, in his second season, is the head coach of the Warriors
Nate Williams is in his first season as head coach of the Eagles
Hendrix has just one player who averages double figures in scoring – Kyle Roach (10.6 PPG).
Three Ozarks players average double figures – Eyal Shamri (15.3 PPG), Dylan Archey (11.4 PPG), and DJ Miller (11.3 PPG).
LOOKING AHEAD: Next weekend, the Gents will have rematches against both the Warriors and Eagles at home. Centenary and Hendrix will meet at 5:30 PM on Friday, Feb. 13 and then the Maroon and White face Ozarks on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4 PM in their final home game of the season in the Gold Dome.
