BASEBALL
The Diamond Gents (11-14, 6-9 SCAC) are halfway through their conference schedule and are aiming to work their way up the standings and get into position to earn a SCAC Tournament berth.
Centenary, picked to finish sixth in the conference this season, is currently tied for eighth place with the University of Dallas. The Diamond Gents won two of three games against the Crusaders over the weekend in Irving, Texas.
The 2026 SCAC Baseball Tournament will be held at The Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas as the double-elimination tournament featuring six team will begin on April 30.
The Diamond Gents are home this weekend to face Austin College (9-12, 9-9 SCAC) and then hit the road consecutive weekends to face conference leader Texas Lutheran University April 2-3 and McMurry University April 10-11.
Centenary then finishes the regular season at home versus the University of St. Thomas April 17-18 and the University of the Ozarks April 24-25. The Diamond Gents' senior class will be honored on April 25.
SOFTBALL
The Ladies (12-11, 10-5 SCAC) completed a three-game series sweep over the University of Dallas in SCAC play with a 6-1 win in the series finale on Saturday at the Centenary Softball Complex.
Centenary swept the Crusaders in a doubleheader on Friday, winning game one 8-0 in five innings and 4-1 in game two. The Ladies have won a season-best six games in a row and are now 10-2 at home. The current winning streak is Centenary's longest since winning eight in a row last season.
The Ladies are on the road this weekend to face Austin College in Sherman, Texas and then return home April 2-3 to face Texas Lutheran. The Ladies' final home series is April 10-11 against McMurry and the senior class will be honored on April 11. Centenary then finishes the regular season on the road at St. Thomas (April 18-19) and at Ozarks (April 24-25).
The 2026 SCAC Softball Tournament will be held May 1-3 in Abilene, Texas and hosted by McMurry. The top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the event. The Ladies, picked to finish fifth in the conference preseason poll, have now made nine-consecutive SCAC Tournament appearances. Centenary, which has completed half of its league schedule, is currently in fourth place in the conference standings.
LACROSSE
The Gents (10-2) are enjoying their most successful season in program history and have garnered national attention for their high-powered offense, a multitude of individual accomplishments, and several broken records.
The Gents have now scored a whopping 236 goals this season, tallied 142 assists, and 378 points. Centenary has led the country in nearly all offensive categories this season and entered play last weekend first in goals scored, assists, points, and Face-Off Winning % and were top 12 in in clearing % and ground balls. Centenary has scored at least 13 goals in 10 of 12 games and 20 or more seven times.
Four Gents have been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association 2026 Division III Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week this season, earning a spot on the prestigious national team.
Sophomore A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) scored an NCAA single-game record 14 goals in Centenary's 21-11 victory over Hendrix College on Feb. 6 as he stands alone in NCAA history across all three divisions (DI, DII, and DIII) for goals in a single game, as the previous mark was 13 accomplished four other DIII players and one D2 player. No division 1 player has ever scored more than 11 goals in a game, accomplished four times.
Sophomore A Noah Walsh (Mount Prospect, Ill.) tallied 14 assists against Brevard College on Feb. 15 which is the third-most assists in a game in D3 history which was preceded by 11 assists against Hendrix, the sixth-most in a single game by a D3 player in NCAA history.
Centenary is off for two weeks before returning to the field for its home finale on April 11 against Rhodes College. The Gents will then finish their regular season at Colorado College on April 25.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S GOLF
The Ladies and Gents are in full swing as they just completed their annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, last Tuesday at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City.
The Ladies finished fourth (130-over par 704) and were led by sophomore Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) who finished eighth at 24-over par 168 as she recorded her first-career top-10 finish. The Gents finished 10th at 80-over par 656 and were led by a sixth-place tie by junior Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.). The top 10 finish was Snell's fourth of the season. Shaw was named the SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week following the tournament as she earned the honor for the first time in her career.
The Ladies are back on the course this week in the Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University at the Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas. The Gents will be back on action April 13-14 for the West Region Invitational in Whitney, Texas. The Ladies and Gents will then both compete in the annual SCAC Championships April 19-21 in Westworth Village, Texas at Hawks Creek Country Club with the University of Dallas the designated host.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Ladies and Gents are off to a fast start to their seasons as they prepare for the annual SCAC Championships next month.
The teams shined in their season-opening meet, the LeTourneau University Invitational, on March 6 as the Ladies and Gents combined to win 10 events and set six program records.
Then, the following week in the Ouachita Invitational hosted Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark., the Gents' team of junior Christian Cormier (Lafayette, La.), sophomore Cameron Hobley (Coushatta, La.), sophomore Dwayne Mills Jr. (Slidell, La.), and sophomore Jay Scott (Slidell, La.) ran a school record in the 4 x 100 meter relay (42.12).
Scott also set a personal record in the long jump (6.87m) to claim the win and freshman Michael Cunningham (Carencro, La.) threw a school record 43.83m in the discus. Scott was named SCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week following the meet.
This past Saturday in the Belhaven Invitational in Jackson, Miss., the Gents' same relay team of Cormier, Hobley, Mills Jr., and Scott ran a new school record time of 40.45 in the 4 x 100 meter relay which is the fastest time in the country in D3 so far this season.
The Ladies and Gents will compete in the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational this Saturday in Natchitoches, La. followed by the Carl Knight Lumberjack Invitational April 2-3 in Nacogdoches, Texas, and then the Bryan Phillips Invitational on April 11 in Searcy, Ark. The 2026 SCAC Championships will be held April 24-26 in Abilene, Texas and hosted by McMurry.
LAGNIAPPE:
The gymnastics team finished fourth in the annual Midwest Independent Conference Championships (MIC) on Friday as the Ladies recorded a 189.325 team score in Normal, Ill.
Centenary's three seniors each earned prestigious individual postseason awards at the pre-championship banquet on Thursday evening as senior Claire Flores (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was co-recipient of the Sylvia Keiter Award with Bailey Upton of Texas Woman's University, senior Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) was named Senior Athlete of the Year, and senior Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) was named MIC Woman of the Year.
Five Ladies have qualified for the 2026 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships, which will be held at West Chester University this weekend in West Chester, Pa. Those five are:
Amy Foret - Vault, Beam and Floor
Claire Flores - Vault and Floor
Junior Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) – Floor
Sophomore Anna Ichiba (Murphy, Texas) – Beam
Sophomore Skyla Cruz (El Paso, Texas) – Beam
The Centenary STUNT team is ranked fifth in the country in the fifth division III poll of the regular season (March 18).

The Ladies remained fifth for the fifth week in a row. Centenary was last in action on Feb. 21 in the Warrior Invitational in East Stroudsburg, Pa. where the Ladies recorded three shutouts.
The Ladies blanked Randolph College 24-0, Saint Elizabeth University 8-0, and Albright College, 12-0. The Ladies' only loss came to host East Stroudsburg University 27-4 in a tough set of four games on Saturday in the Keystone state.
